Tripp Lite announces the release of an upgraded PowerAlert UPS Management Software (Version 11.0X) that is compatible with all Microsoft operating systems (i.e. Windows® 2000 and XP) featuring hibernate functionality. This new PowerAlert feature works with the Microsoft operating system to automatically save all open programs and files exactly as they appear on-screen in the event of an automatic or manual system shutdown.

Seagate Removable Storage Solutions (RSS) and HP announced plans to develop, manufacture, market and distribute the next generation of DDS (digital data storage) technology with 5th-generation DDS tape products in 2003. Features will include backwards read-and-write capability; higher capacity; and unique solutions with multiple configurations.

LSI Logic announced it has initiated co-development product planning with leading hard disk drive manufacturers Fujitsu, Maxtor, and Seagate. LSI Logic will use its Fusion-MPT (Message Passing Technology) architecture as the basis for the evolution of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) silicon. The architecture simplifies product design, being modular building block based, and therefore provides a proven pathway for product development to assure a first-to-market solution for LSI Logic and its hard disk drive partners.
