AMD OFFERS PENNYWISE MUSCLE WITH NEW RADEON HD 4000 ADDITIONS

If you’re a keen gamer looking to invest in a new GPU, but perhaps unwilling to break the bank in the process, then leading chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) might have just the ticket to meet both your graphics needs and also your financial limitations.

If you’re a keen gamer looking to invest in a new GPU, but perhaps unwilling to break the bank in the process, then leading chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) might have just the ticket to meet both your graphics needs and also your financial limitations.
More pointedly, released via AMD’s graphics-centric ATI division, enthusiastic but pennywise gamers can now enjoy access to DirectX 10.1 technology without splashing an unacceptable amount of cash, thanks to the availability of the ATI Radeon HD 4550 and ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics cards.
Arriving as the latest entrants to its award-winning ATI Radeon HD 4000 series of graphics solutions, AMD lauds the new feature-rich duo as delivering “exceptional gaming and HD multimedia performance” while being attached to distinctly value price points.
Built on technology utilised through the more oomph-worthy HD 4800 series, the new HD 4550 is described as providing gamers with mainstream-class performance for less than $59 USD and a DDR3 memory configuration of 512MBs; while the HD 4350 is the “ideal introduction” to the HD 4000 series and costs less than $39 USD for a memory configuration of 256MBs.

“The ATI Radeon HD 4550 and ATI Radeon 4350 graphics cards are the final pieces of the puzzle in rounding out the highly successful ATI Radeon HD 4000 series family,” enthused Rick Bergman, senior vice president and general manager of AMD’s Graphics Products Group.
“AMD set out to lead performance at every price point and today we offer a complete family of graphics cards that delivers on our commitment of winning performance in each market segment,” he added.
The HD 4550 features 80 stream processing cores and is based on AMD’s advanced second-generation 55nm manufacturing process. It also comes with 96 GFLOPS of computing power and full support for computer games developed on DirectX 10.1 technology. The HD 4550 also operates at less than 20 watts under full load and comes with passive cooling.
Highlighted as the perfect entry point for those looking to embrace the HD 4000 series, the HD 4350 is equipped with 7.1 channel audio via HDMI, a frame buffer of 256MB, and also consumes a mere 20 watts of power under full load.
Both the ATI Radeon HD 4550 and ATI Radeon HD 4350 also include multimedia enrichment courtesy of the inclusion of AMD’s second-generation Unified Video Decoder (UVD 2.0) and ATI Avivo HD technology. Both GPUs will be available before the close of October.
