PROMISE Technology, Inc. unveiled the VessRAID and VessJBOD product line, a new generation of SAS/SATA 3Gb storage systems and expansion enclosures, as the perfect cost-effective solution for Small to Medium Business (SMB) to tailor a better storage infrastructure to a wide variety of different applications. VessRAID 1740s and 1840s are 3U 16-bay dual-port SAS-to-SAS/SATA RAID6 subsystems that provide users a full-featured, high-performance and energy-saving storage environment with expanded VessJBOD 1740 and 1840 enclosure scalability.

Born with the field-proven enterprise RAID engine from the previous generation of Promise VTrak products, VessRAID features a robust architecture equipped with a full selection of RAID and management tools. In addition, One-Plug-Auto-Service (OPAS), a newly added function, provides the user with an immediate, comprehensive report of historic data, event log, array configuration and setup generated by the system via USB stick. This simple diagnostic process, the OPAS, enables IT administrators to digest the report and take action to correct the unhealthy system in a minimal amount of time.

Designed for cost sensitive businesses, VessRAID also features power scheduler operation that powers down the system to standby mode on a scheduled basis. This action greatly reduces power consumption and heat by not spinning idle disk drives, bringing a significant cost saving to your IT budget. Moreover, both VessRAID and VessJBOD use 80PLUS power supply module, a more energy-efficient design, for better energy practices and saving you money.
